Job Title: License Plate Recognition (LPR) Junior Analyst
Location: Fidelity Business Intelligence Centre – Helderkruin Head Office
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary:
The LPR Control Room Monitor is responsible for overseeing and managing the live feed from License Plate Recognition systems in a control room environment. This role involves monitoring real-time data and alerts, ensuring accurate identification of vehicles, and coordinating responses to flagged incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Real-Time Monitoring:
    • Monitor live LPR system feeds to identify and respond to flagged vehicles.
    • Verify system-generated alerts and escalate issues to security or management teams, as necessary.
  2. Incident Management:
    • Log and report incidents involving flagged license plates, including detailed time-stamped records.
    • Coordinate with security personnel and law enforcement teams to address incidents promptly.
  3. System Operations:
    • Ensure the continuous functionality of LPR cameras and control room equipment during shifts.
    • Perform routine system checks and report any technical issues to the IT or maintenance team.
  4. Data Accuracy and Analysis:
    • Cross-check LPR data for accuracy and consistency with established protocols.
    • Assist in preparing reports or summaries based on system data and incident logs.
  5. Compliance and Security:
    • Adhere to data protection and privacy regulations in handling license plate and vehicle data.
    • Maintain confidentiality and secure management of all system information.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: PSIRA Grade A
  • Technical Skills:
    • Familiarity with LPR systems and related control room technologies (minimum 3-years experience)
    • Basic knowledge of computer systems, monitoring software, and data entry.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a focused environment.
    • Effective communication skills for coordinating with teams and reporting incidents.
    • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make quick, informed decisions.
  • Communication:
    • Excellent English communication skills for effective interaction. Clear articulation, proper grammar, and an extensive vocabulary
  • Experience: Previous experience in surveillance, security monitoring, or a related field is advantageous.

Work Environment:

  • Based in a secure control room with rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • May involve extended periods of sitting and monitoring multiple screens.
