Job Summary:
The Fire Assistant Technician will work under the supervision of the Fire Technician or Fire Chief to assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire protection systems. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of fire safety regulations and procedures, along with technical skills to effectively support the team in their duties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the installation, testing, and maintenance of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and fire extinguishers.
2. Perform routine checks and inspections on fire safety equipment to ensure they are in proper working condition.
3. Respond to emergency calls and provide support during fire incidents as needed.
4. Follow safety protocols and guidelines while working on-site to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of all team members.
5. Assist in conducting fire safety training sessions for staff members to educate them on evacuation procedures and fire prevention measures.
6. Keep accurate records of all maintenance work, inspections, and repairs performed on fire protection systems.
7. Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Fire Technician or Fire Chief.
Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Previous experience working in a fire protection or related field is preferred.
3. Knowledge of fire safety regulations and procedures.
4. Technical skills to troubleshoot and repair fire protection systems.
5. Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
6. Ability to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls when necessary.
7. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in challenging environments.
