Vacancy: Control Room Manager - National Command Centre
Location: Heldekruin Roodepoort

The overall purpose of this position is to ensure that all site-specific security requirements are adhered to and that the Client’s needs are always efficiently and professionally met. Managing People, Processes and systems.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Grade B/A Psira registered and accredited.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Security Industry and as a Control Room Manager.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in security management, surveillance systems, or related fields can be advantageous.
  • Master all Security systems utilized in a Control room environment.
  • Security Management Training.
  • Computer Literacy in MS Office, CCTV, etc.
  • Able to exercise and maintain discipline.
  • Strong Leadership skills.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and for extended hours as and when required.
  • Work independently and within a team.
  • Must be reliable and trustworthy.
  • Receiving complaints and informing management accordingly.
  • Driver's License and own reliable transport.
  • No criminal record or any Pending Cases.
  • Must Reside in West Rand Area.

Job Description: (Not totally inclusive)

  • Oversee the supervision of security control room operation (Mid-Level).
  • Perform daily site coverage and ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the control room.
  • Supervise a team of control room operators, ensuring that they are trained and operating efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Monitor the performance of the facility, ensuring that it is operating safely and efficiently.
  • Manage and maintain the control room equipment and systems, ensuring that they are operating effectively.
  • Participate in incident investigations and ensure that appropriate corrective actions are taken.
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure that the facility is operating as efficiently as possible.
  • Ensure that personnel files are current and competency renewals are timeously booked and attended accordingly.
  • Coordinate all administrative functions such as, leave applications, monthly overtime submissions, duty rosters and other queries of Control Room personnel.

Technical Skills

  1. Alarm Monitoring Platforms: Proficiency in using and managing alarm monitoring systems.
  2. CCTV Platforms: Extensive knowledge of various CCTV systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  3. Hardware Systems: Strong understanding of hardware systems related to surveillance, including cameras, sensors, and recording devices.

Management Skills

  1. Leadership: Ability to lead and motivate a large team, ensuring high performance and morale.
  2. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities to manage schedules, shifts, and resources efficiently.
  3. Report Writing: Strong skills in writing detailed and accurate reports, including incident reports and performance evaluations.
  4. Feedback Skills: Proficiency in providing constructive feedback to staff to improve performance and address issues.
  5. Shift Management: Willingness and ability to manage and work night shifts, as well as being on standby as needed.

  1. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to monitor surveillance feeds and identify potential security issues.
  2. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address technical issues and operational challenges.
  3. Communication: Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with staff, management, and external stakeholders.
  4. Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing situations and handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  5. Integrity: High level of integrity and professionalism, especially in handling sensitive information.
