Job Title: Hotel Security Supervisor
Location: Cape Town
Job Summary:
The Hotel Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the security operations of the hotel to ensure the safety and security of guests, employees, and property. The supervisor will lead a team of security officers and work collaboratively with other departments to enforce security protocols and maintain a secure environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and train security officers, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and providing guidance and support.
2. Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access control systems to detect and prevent security breaches.
3. Conduct regular patrols of the hotel grounds to identify and address security risks.
4. Respond to emergency situations, such as fires, medical emergencies, and disturbances, and coordinate with local law enforcement when necessary.
5. Investigate security incidents and prepare incident reports for management review.
6. Collaborate with other departments to ensure that security protocols are followed and guest safety is prioritized.
7. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with guests and employees.
8. Stay up-to-date on security trends and regulations to implement best practices and procedures.
9. Assist in the development and implementation of security training programs for employees.
10. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Qualifications:
1. Grade 12
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in security in hospitality sector.
3. Psira registered
3. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in emergency situations.
6. Knowledge of security systems and protocols.
7. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical Requirements:
1. Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
2. Ability to work in various weather conditions.
3. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
